A public collection gives other people a place to read the notes, tags, and posts you have gathered. Following brings that collection’s context into Whodis while you browse X.

Share a public collection

  1. Open your collection in the Whodis side panel.
  2. Check that Visibility is Public.
  3. Copy its Public link and share that link wherever you choose.
The copy button briefly changes to a checkmark. Opening the link takes a reader to the collection’s public page, where people and saved posts appear together. Readers can view public content without following it. Only share a collection after reviewing its notes, tags, bookmarks, and attachments. See Private and public collections before publishing sensitive context.

Follow a collection

Open a public collection page on Whodis and choose Follow. If prompted, sign in on the web with X. The button changes to Following after the follow is saved. You can follow before installing the extension. To see collection context inside X, install Whodis and sign in to the extension as well. Web sign-in and extension sign-in are separate. With Whodis active, notes and tags from public collections you follow can appear when those people show up on X. The collection also appears under Collections in your side panel.

Following gives you a reading view

Following does not make you an owner or editor. You can read the collection’s content, but you cannot rename it, change its visibility, or edit another person’s collection notes through following alone. Your own personal notes and tags remain separate. Following a public collection does not publish them or copy them into that collection.

Stop following

Open the collection’s public page and use its Following control to unfollow. This removes your follow relationship; it does not delete the owner’s collection. Public content can still be viewed through its link while it remains public. Return to Collections, or learn how to save posts into a collection.
