# Install and get started

> Install Whodis for Chrome and start saving context about people and posts on X.

Whodis keeps useful context close to the people and posts you see on X. Save a note about someone, categorize them with tags, or bookmark a post you want to revisit.

## Install Whodis

1. Open [Whodis in the Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/whodis/giacdokghnkjijdgmpfhhdmdjalaffoo).
2. Choose **Add to Chrome** and confirm **Add extension**.
3. Open Chrome's extensions menu and pin Whodis so it is easy to find.
4. Open [X](https://x.com/home), then open Whodis from the Chrome toolbar and sign in.

## Save your first bit of context

Hover over someone's name on X. In the Whodis section of their hovercard, choose **+ Add a note**, write a reminder, then choose **Save**.

<FeatureClip video="/videos/features/profile-notes-hovercard.mp4" alt="Adding a personal note from an X timeline hovercard and recognizing the person by the Whodis badge afterward." />

Use [profile notes](/features/profile-notes) for context in your own words, [profile tags](/features/profile-tags) to categorize people, and [bookmarks](/features/bookmarks) to save posts.

## Organize as you go

Keep notes and tags personal when they are just for you. Use [collections](/features/collections) to bring related people, notes, tags, and posts together. New collections start private; you can make selected collections public when you want others to view and follow them.

Open Whodis from the toolbar to revisit your **Notes**, **Tags**, and **Collections**. Saved posts are inside their collections.
