# Collections

> Bring notes about people, tags, and saved posts together. Keep a collection private or make selected collections public.

Whodis saves three kinds of content: **notes** about people, **tags** for categorizing people, and **bookmarks** for saving posts.

Keep notes and tags personal when they are just for you. Choose a collection when you want to organize related people, context, and posts in one place. Later, you can make a selected collection public so others can view and follow it.

<FeatureClip video="/videos/features/collections-workflow.mp4" width={960} height={1080} alt="Creating the private AI Field Notes collection from a profile note, saving the note into it, applying a collection tag, and opening the collection to see a tagged person and a saved post together." />

## Start a collection

You can create a collection while saving a note or a bookmark.

1. Open **Add to a collection** in a note editor, or hover over a post's bookmark icon.
2. Enter a new collection name.
3. Choose **Create** for that name.

New collections start private. In the note editor, write your note and choose **Save** after creating or selecting the collection. Creating from the bookmark picker also saves that post into the new collection.

## Bring related content together

* **Notes:** choose the collection in the note editor before saving context about a person.
* **Tags:** choose the collection in the tag editor, then select labels for that person. Collection tags are separate from your personal tags.
* **Bookmarks:** choose the collection from a post's bookmark picker.

For example, keep AI educators, notes about what they teach, and posts you want to study in **AI Field Notes**. A collection can contain a mix of people and posts; you do not need a separate collection for each content type.

## Revisit a collection

Open Whodis from the Chrome toolbar, choose **Collections**, then open a collection. You can read profile notes, see applied collection tags, and return to bookmarked posts from the same detail view.

Your **Notes** and **Tags** tabs show personal content. Collection content lives under **Collections**.

## Choose what others can see

Keep a research collection private while you work. When you want to share it, review its contents and choose which collection to make public. Publishing a collection exposes the notes, tags, and bookmarks saved in that collection; it does not publish separate personal content or your other private collections.

See [Private and public collections](/features/private-and-public-collections) for visibility settings, and [Share and follow collections](/features/share-and-follow-collections) for public links and following.
