# Bookmarks

> Save useful posts into Whodis collections and revisit them alongside your notes and tagged people.

Bookmarks save posts you want to return to. Collections give those posts a home alongside the people and context that make them useful.

## Save a post to a collection

1. Hover over a post's bookmark icon on X to open the Whodis collection picker.
2. Choose **Add** beside a collection. Use the search field if you have several collections.
3. Wait for the row to show **Saved**.

You can save the same post into more than one collection. The small count beside the bookmark icon tells you how many Whodis collections contain it.

To start a collection from the picker, enter a new name and choose its creation action. Whodis creates a private collection and saves that post into it.

## Find your saved posts

Open Whodis from the Chrome toolbar, choose **Collections**, then open a collection. Its **Bookmarks** section shows saved posts with their authors and a link back to X. There is no separate Bookmarks tab in the side panel.

## Whodis saves and X bookmarks

With **Bookmark on collection add** enabled, saving into a Whodis collection also bookmarks the post on X. This setting is on by default.

Whodis collection membership and X's native bookmark are separate states. Removing a post from a Whodis collection only removes its X bookmark when **Unbookmark on collection removal** is enabled; that setting is off by default.

If you manually unbookmark a post on X while a Whodis collection still contains it, Whodis offers a reminder. Removing the collection copy remains your choice.

## Remove a saved post

Select its **Saved** row in the picker to remove it from that collection, or use the remove action in the collection's Bookmarks section and confirm. Copies in other collections remain available.

Choose a collection's visibility deliberately. Posts saved into a public collection can be viewed by others along with its notes and tags. Your native X bookmark list is not automatically published by Whodis.
